Our Story

1989

The idea was born!

Pat and Kathleen were watching Glenrowe on the television and when Pat heard Biddy say to Miley: ‘I’m going to plant Christmas Trees in that field’ Pat thought he’d do the same!

1989

First baby and first plant

In the summer of 1989, Pat put his eldest daughter in the pram and went out to plant some Christams trees in the back of the field

1997

First batch (8 years growing)

After 8 years in the ground the first plantation was coming to 8ft and admittedly the first batch wasn’t his best!

2003

The gates open! (12 years growing)

After 12 years and 4 children later Caulstown Christmas Tree Farm open its gates with a simple sign at the top of the county road. Pat had lots of helpers with kids and neighbours all joining in to help out!

2013

The barn is born

The Christmas tree count, 5,000, the children count, 5.

With many faces visiting the farm over the last 10 years in all types of weather, from big snow to rainy winters, the barn was born. It allows visitors to the farm a place to pick their freshly cut tree without having to worry about the elements!

2015

Santa’s sleigh

Santa called the farm to ask if we could store an emergency sleigh for him, and were were only happy to store the sleigh in the barn- ready and waiting for Santa when he needs it on Christmas Eve!

Experience sitting on Santas sleigh and pick your your perfect Christmas tree!

2018

Alpacas at the farm

As all good ideas are born on ‘the high stool’ so was Caulstown Christmas Tree and Alpaca Farm!
